Worlds Apart — Bruce Springsteen (From The Rising)

At last! a new album from the Boss, and some cracking tunes on it, and this one ain't bad either — nice
to it as well.....

yeah I know its only the chords cos I can't do the rest — if anyone else knows it please tell me!!

Lyrics are taken straight out of the book, so if they're wrong then Bruce sang the wrong words.

I have no idea what to play over the main part of thie introduction, but when the singing starts its based over:

Em Em D and Em

             Em D Em
Li li li li li, li li li li li, li li li li, li li li li li,
             Em D Em
Li li li li li, li li li li li, li li li li, li li li li li,

                 Em
I hold you in my arms, yeah that's when it starts,
                     D Em
I see faith in your kiss, and comfort in your heart,
                            Em
I taste the seed upon your lips, lay my tongue upon your scars,
                          D Em
But when I look in your eyes, we stand worlds apart,

             Em D Em
Li li li li li, li li li li li, li li li li, li li li li li,
             Em D Em
Li li li li li, li li li li li, li li li li, li li li li li,

                          Em
Where the distant oceans sing, and rise to the plain,
                           D Em
In this dry and troubled country, your beauty remains,
                         Em
Down from the mountain roads, where the highway rolls to dark,
                         D Em
'Neath Allah's blessed rain, we remain worlds apart,

             Em D Em
Li li li li li, li li li li li, li li li li, li li li li li,
             Em D Em
Li li li li li, li li li li li, li li li li, li li li li li,

Guitar solo over Em D Em G D Em

                                 Em
Sometimes the truth just ain't enough, or it's too much in times like these,
                        D Em
Let's throw the truth away, we'll find it in this kiss,
                         Em
In your skin upon my skin, in the beating of our hearts,
                      D Em
May the living let us in, before the dead tear us apart,

             Em D Em
Li li li li li, li li li li li, li li li li, li li li li li,
             Em D Em
Li li li li li, li li li li li, li li li li, li li li li li,

                           Em
We'll let blood build a bridge, over mountains draped in stars,
                        D Em
I'll met you on the ridge, between these worlds apart,
                         Em
We've got this moment now to live, then it's all dust and dark,
                             D Em
Let's let love give what it gives, let's let love give what it gives,

                             Em D Em
Let's let love give what it gives,
                             Em D Em
Let's let love give what it gives,
                             Em D Em
Let's let love give what it gives,
                             Em D Em
Let's let love give what it gives,
                             Em D Em
Let's let love give what it gives,

Solo over Em D Em

I think the rather fantastic solo is based around the 12th and 15th frets on the B and e (top 2) strings —
do a lot of unison bends etc....

Chords:
       EADGBe
Em (022000)
D (xx0232)
G (320033)

hope this is useful, Rob
