The scientist — From the album: A rush of blood to the head.
 By Gary O' Donnell (godreborn@eircom.net)

This song has both electric and acoustic guitar parts. The acoustic guitar
starts just after Chris sings "oh take me back to the start". Everyone seems to
give the basic chords for this song(Dm,Bb,F These aint entirely wrong but they
are played high up the fretboard. I've been searchin' all over guitar sites for
the electric outro but no—one seems to know it! I've had a go at it so it may not
be fantastic but it sounds alright. Oh, and use a capo on the 1st fret.

This is ALL my own work,K?

Intro:The whole intro is piano with a hint of strings in the background. Piano
parts cant be tabbed (and might look outta place on a guitar website!) so the
(Very) basic chords are Dm,Bb,F,F/G.

Come up to meet ya, tell ya I'm sorry, you dont know how lovely you are.
I had to find you, tell you I need you , tell you I've set you apart.
So tell me your secrets and ask me your questions, and oh lets go back to the start,
Runnin in circles, coming up tails heads on a science apart.
Nobody said it was easy, its such a shame for us to part. Nobody said it was easy,
no—one ever said it would be so—o hard.
Chords relative to capo on 1st fret. Sounds totally wrong without it.

Im goin back to the start.

F(022100) Bb (077600) F, F2(222452),
Dm(446654) B, F. F2

Dm Bb F F2
I was just guessing at numbers and figures, pulling the puzzles apart

Dm Bb F F2
Questions of science, science and progress, could not speak as loud as my heart.

Dm Bb F F2
So tell me you love me, come back and haunt me, oh when I rush to the start.

Dm Bb F F2
Runnin in circles, chasin our tails, coming back as we are...

Chorus:

Bb F F2
Nobody said it was easy, its such a shame for us to part

Bb F F2 C(x21xxx)
Nobody said it was easy, no—one ever said it would be this hard

Im goin back to the start...

Now for the electric guitar part. I had to watch (very closly) Johny (coldplay
guitarist) play this live in Chicago on MTV2. This is how he plays it, so if it
sounds crap, blame him!

Again, capo on first fret or its hopeless...

Just play this with a small bit of gain of distortion, loud, and over and
over,until the end.

Thats it. Took me months to work out! This sounds as accurate as I'll get it.
