A Few notes —— Yes, that verse riff is as hard as it looks. The key to it
(and most any DMB song) is to use your pinky for any note you can't quite
reach. Just practice.
Opening riff found on most pre r2t tripping billies:

sometimes repeated once more, other times repeated many times with
vocal jam
next riff/opening riff as found on r2t:
this riff is used throughout the song, and is easiest to master if
you use index finger for all 2s and 5s on the low e—string, your
ring finger for all 3s and 7s on the low e—string, your middle finger
on all 2s and 6s on the d—string, and your pinky for all 4s and 7s on
the d—string. and an easier way to master this song is to watch dave
carefully if you ever get the chance. it may sound like a simplistic
way, but if you can get up closer to him, you'd be amazed at how his
progressions stand out in your mind when you get back to your own axe,
even if you were standing thirty feet away from him.

I was looking through the DMB tab on this site and it all looks off,
BY A LOT. If I were trying to learn DMB songs go to DMBTabs.com cuz
the guy that runs the site knows what he is doing. But if you want a
quick fix for Tripping Billies, the verse is a little off here. Its
not as hard as it seems, well yeah it is cuz you REALLY hafta stretch
your index finger. Enough with words, to the verse of "Billies"

This next part is cool to throw in when playing the chorus to Billies.
It is one of the parts that Tim Reynolds plays when he is with Dave.
I use it cuz my rhythm is usually off when I play the first part of the chorus
and it helps me "know" when to play the second 2x02——.

Yeah, that's it. It is very similar to the other tab that is posted,
But that person put a ——76—— at the part where I have ——26—— for the
verse. The Tim Reynolds part of the chorus is played quickly. If you
have any questions about this or most other DMB tabs, like I said go
to DMBtabs.com That site rocks for Dave tab, and it has some vids of
how to play the songs. Any questions in general, just send them to the
email addy above. Hopefully this is easier for everyone to play.
